About Me

My journey into sociology began with my lived experience as a daughter and sister of individuals with repetitive and/or sustained criminal legal contact. I knew that my entire family bore the consequences and that we all, in some capacity, contributed to getting them through the process, but the structural why(s) and patterned how(s) were initially beyond my understanding.

I am fortunate to be able to reflect and build on my family’s experiences - as well as raise new questions - as a scholar, teacher, and learner of sociology.
